Wat ga je doen?

We are looking for a Financial Controller for our Central Companies that has the drive to understand our business and is able to translate the financial figures into useful and relevant information for decision makers. You will be based at our headquarters in Eindhoven. Your primary responsibility will be the accounting of Afa’s companies focusing on Research & Innovation, Global Business Development and fixed assets all around the world. You will be interacting with international colleagues in China, US and with both Accounting as well as Operational and Research & Innovation employees. 
In addition you will become responsible for the financial accounting activities of our Business-to-Consumer business. This is a relatively new business for Afa but has seen rapid growth already in the US market and is on the eve of rolling this out to other continents. 

Your direct report will be the Manager Global Financial Control. You will work for the EVP Research & Innovation, EVP Global Business Development & Marketing and the EVP Business to Consumer division. You will also participate in various ad hoc initiatives, projects.   You have already gained experience in financial accounting jobs and are ready for the next step in your career. You will require strong analytical skills and good communication skills. You  feel at ease within a dynamic and international setting. 

YOUR MAIN TASKS ARE:

•    Complete, timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting  
•    Primary business partner for finance related manners for the EVP’s
•    First contact person for WBSO subsidy reporting 
•    Ensure timely registration and accounting of projects and report to stakeholders.
•    Preparation of information for the annual financial audit
•    Assist in the annual budget and forecast preparations
•    Assist in setting up supplier and customer account 
 

Wat vragen we van je?

•    A completed bachelor in business economics/finance/accountancy
•    3+ relevant work experience in an international organization, in a relevant role, like e.g. financial controller
•    You work in a structured and planned way, but you also manage ad hoc questions efficiently through a practical and hands-on attitude.
•    Self-starter with excellent strong analytical skills
•    Familiar with ERP systems – preferably SAP S/4 Hana and MS-Office applications.
•    Adaptable, flexible, service minded
•    Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
•    Experience in accounting for project organizations is a plus
